Stacy's Cafe
About This Spot
Stepping into Stacy’s Cafe feels like slipping into a well-loved neighborhood staple, where the rhythms of familiar conversations hum beneath the clinking of glasses and cutlery. Nestled on Mannheim Road in Bellwood, this steak house offers a warm, lived-in atmosphere that invites you to settle in and slow down, whether you’re here for a casual dinner or a last-minute meal before heading out of town.
The pace here is unhurried, reflective of a place where locals gather to share stories over generous portions and classic comfort food. It’s not about flash or trendiness, but rather the quiet comfort of an old-school dining room where the service is friendly—sometimes a little stretched thin, but always sincere—and the ambiance hums with the easy confidence of a neighborhood haunt.
At Stacy’s, the menu feels like a thoughtful nod to traditional American steakhouse fare, where the prime ribs and rib eye steaks arrive with an honest, straightforward appeal. There’s a warmth to the offerings, from hearty French onion soup to a blue cheese burger that tastes unmistakably fresh off the grill. Even the cocktails, like a simply crafted martini, fit seamlessly into the welcoming and unpretentious vibe.
This isn’t a place for flashy dining theater; it’s a setting where the food—rich, comforting, familiar—resonates with the kind of quiet satisfaction that comes from a neighborhood gem. You might find other diners gathering over baby back ribs or sharing a slice of classic apple pie a la mode, the kind of simple pleasures that invite conversation and repeated visits.
While the atmosphere can carry a lively, spirited energy reminiscent of a bustling local bar—especially during peak hours—there is nonetheless a tangible sense of being among regulars, a community that knows its way around Stacy’s tables and classic recipe lineup. It’s the kind of spot where small moments stand out, like a birthday sundae with a candle or a friendly nod from a server, gentle reminders that this is more than just a meal—it’s a place woven into the fabric of everyday lives in Bellwood.

Server never came back to ask if everything was acceptable. Atmosphere was very loud much like a sports bar. Quality of food was passable not very tasty. Quantity size small. 4 shrimps in cocktail sauce? Pretty expensive. No Senior menu

Old timey restaurant that serves you 3 course meals with bread and butter. The place is a hangout for locals. The service was slow but there was only one server. Prices were moderate. They also served me a birthday sundae with candle! We had a nice meal while waiting to go to the airport. Nothing spectacular but I would go back again.

Decided to try Stacy’s Cafe on a whim. Pleasantly surprised, you enter into a warm and inviting establishment with a nice and friendly bar and dining area. We were greeted by a very nice and welcoming waitress. We decided to get the special which was the cheeseburger and fries. Incredible price and delicious. Made to order with a fresh off the grill taste. My friend accidentally left her diabetic blood meter there and when we called the next day, they had found it and put it aside. She easily picked it up and were very helpful. Would definitely come back, we want to try the steak next time.

I enjoyed Stacy's. They have great sandwiches, and the servers are always very friendly. It is a quaint yet elegant type of atmosphere. They don't split checks, so be aware if you are with a group.

I have driven Mannheim numerous times, always wanting to try it. This is a small neighborhood place; the bar and 6 slot machines take up half the restaurant. We were seated at a booth along the windows. My friend noted that the booth seats are not anchored down, and every time the people behind us got up or sat down, it was felt by my friend, I'm sure the opposite was true as well. Our table was in the bar area, and it was LOUD. It was Friday night, and many patrons were out for a drink with friends. The room in the back would be much quieter. There are two ways to approach this restaurant: their burgers are very reasonably priced, starting at $11.50, going up to $14.00. Othe sandwiches start at $15.00 and go up to $17.00. There also is a Butt steak sandwich for $23 and a Prime Filet Steak Sandwich at $25. The other side is the steak or seafood place; dinners start at $24, going up to $65 for the surf & turf or $66 for the twin lobster tails. I had the Butt steak & fresh catch of the day at $39. Today's catch was Sea Bass (different from Chilean Sea Bass). The preparation on the sea bass was excellent! Tender and succulent. The Butt streak was also excellent. It was served with a choice of potato and steamed broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots. My friend had the Stacy burger with cheese was very satisfied. Another friend went for the queen's cut prime rib. He said it was pretty standard as prime rib goes. He did order the garlic mashed potatoes and found them not to his liking. In fact, no one at the table liked them... and I love garlic. The potatoes felt dry and greasy at the same time. The texture was also off-putting. Over all we would come here again.
